BIGBANG’s G-Dragon has finally addressed the multiple dating rumors that have surrounded him, declaring “I’m single” during his new variety show appearance.
During the February 16th broadcast of MBC’s Good Day, the K-pop icon met with Jeong Hyung Don and Defconn for a music project. Defconn, who hosts the dating show I Am Solo, pitched the idea of a celebrity special to G-Dragon, saying, “I heard you watch dating shows these days. We’re planning a celebrity special. Trust me and come on the show.” G-Dragon deflected, responding, “Taeyang is the one who really loves your show. He thinks other dating shows are fake. He practically evangelizes about it.” After continued persuasion, G-Dragon finally admitted, “I’m single.”
The statement comes after a year of persistent dating rumors involving various celebrities. In December, speculation arose about a potential relationship with Han So Hee after fans noticed similar location photos on their Instagram posts, including matching shots of a “Love for Life” mural. Both parties quickly clarified they “don’t even know each other that well.”
Earlier in March, G-Dragon was linked to influencer and former Miss Korea Kim Go Eun, who is 12 years his junior. His representatives denied the rumors, stating, “They just have mutual friends.”
Meanwhile, G-Dragon’s first-ever regular variety show appearance on Good Day has proven to be a ratings success, securing 4.9% viewership (Nielsen Korea) in the metropolitan area. The show particularly excelled in the crucial 20-49 demographic with 3%, topping the time slot against SBS’ My Little Old Boy and ranking first among all Sunday shows across genres. The peak minute rating hit 6.2% during a preview featuring the “88z” squad including Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Hae In, Yim Si Wan, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Kwanghee.
