K-pop star-turned-actress Son Naeun has revealed she’s been the target of hackers who compromised her personal phone and attempted to extort money from her, with police now launching an investigation into the matter.
Son’s agency YG Entertainment issued a statement on February 12th night confirming that “Son Naeun’s personal phone was recently hacked.” The company disclosed that they are pursuing aggressive countermeasures, including police investigation, against the hackers’ continuous monetary demands.
According to YG Entertainment, the actress initially complied with the hackers’ demands “to prevent any harm coming to her family and acquaintances.”
“However, the hackers continued their monetary demands, and when the threats extended to reaching out to Son Naeun’s family members, we decided we could no longer remain passive and have initiated a strong response,” the agency elaborated.
Meanwhile, Son Naeun recently wrapped her role as Ok Tae Young in the drama series The Tale of Lady Ok.
