On December 1st, Jeon Soyeon took to her Instagram to post, “To Neverland and everyone who loves (G) I-DLE’s music, thank you so much.”
Earlier, Jeon Soyeon made a surprise announcement during her acceptance speech at the 2024 Melon Music Awards, revealing that all five (G)I-DLE members had renewed their contracts with Cube Entertainment.
She expressed her heartfelt emotions in her post, writing, “Over the past seven years, we’ve experienced joy, sadness, frustration, and hope together, and the five of us have grown stronger.” Reflecting on the journey, she added, “We all come from different countries and environments, and it took us a while to say this. I’m sure you were worried.”
Jeon Soyeon continued, “The decision for the five of us to stay together was unanimous. I’m incredibly happy and proud that I’ll continue leading (G)I-DLE as their leader for a long time. Miyeon, Minni, Yiqi, Shuhua—I’m so grateful to you and love you so much. Neverland and (G)I-DLE, forever!”
During the Melon Music Awards, the group took home the Record of the Year, one of the four grand prizes of the night. Jeon Soyeon shared her joy onstage, saying, “All five of us, not just me, decided to renew our contracts. We discussed this before coming onstage, and yes, it’s true that all five members have signed. We’ll continue together next year, the year after that, and forever, so I hope fans won’t worry. We’ll repay your love with great music next year and work even harder as (G)I-DLE.”
At the 2024 MMA, (G)I-DLE also took home a Top 10 award and the Songwriter Award, marking another milestone in their career.
