Amidst his DUI controversy and recent second public apology, BTS’s Suga has received support from various celebrities and fans who have connections with the artist.
On the 25th, several posts emerged on X (formerly Twitter) about Psy mentioning Suga during his “Summer Swag” concert. One concertgoer shared, “Psy introduced ‘That That’ with genuine emotion, saying, ‘I want to express my gratitude to Suga, who made and sang this song with me.’ After that, Psy performed ‘That That’ with great enthusiasm.”
“That That” is a 2022 hit song by Psy, produced by Suga, who also featured as a rapper and appeared in the music video. Another X user echoed this sentiment, stating, “Yoongi, there are so many people supporting you. We’ll always be behind you,” expressing how touched they were by Psy’s supportive words for Suga.
Lee Min Jin, the author of the Apple TV+ original series Pachinko, which recently released its second season, also showed her support for Suga. She posted a photo of Suga and a purple heart emoji on her Instagram. Purple is a significant color for BTS and their fanbase, ARMY.
Fans from around the world flooded her post with comments like, “Thank you for your support,” “Yoongi, we love you,” “We’re always by your side,” and “No one can ridicule Suga.”
Suga had previously appeared at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the 23rd for approximately three hours of questioning. According to the police, Suga admitted to the DUI charges. The authorities are proceeding with the process of revoking his license and will review the details to decide on further actions.
