IVE member Jang Wonyoung and her sister Jang Da Ah are famous siblings in the entertainment world.

Jang Wonyoung first gained recognition through the Mnet girl group survival audition program Produce 48 in 2018. That August, she successfully debuted as a singer as a member of IZ*ONE. After wrapping up approximately two and a half years of activities with IZ*ONE, Jang Wonyoung re-debuted as a member of the girl group IVE.

Her older sister by three years, Jang Da Ah officially began her acting career with the TVING drama Pyramid Game in May 2024. Despite the public’s initial focus on her famous sister, Da Ah quickly proved her talent with a compelling performance as the complex character Baek Ha Rin. In an interview, Jang Da Ah candidly shared, “I understand that people initially saw me as Jang Wonyoung’s sister, but I hope that as my acting career progresses, I can establish my own identity as an actress.”

Gong Seung Yeon and TWICE’s Jeongyeon are another pair of singer-actress siblings in the spotlight.

Gong Seung Yeon, who has shown remarkable acting skills in dramas such as Aloners (2021) and The First Responders (2023), surprisingly has a background as an SM Entertainment trainee. Initially preparing to become an idol, she transitioned to acting and began her career as an actress in 2015 with Six Flying Dragons.

Meanwhile, Jeongyeon, Gong Seung Yeon’s younger sister, fulfilled the idol dream that her sibling had once given up on. Selected through Mnet’s SIXTEEN, Jeongyeon debuted as a TWICE member in 2015. She faced health challenges, including neck disc surgery and panic disorder, but persevered and returned to the stage stronger than ever. Reflecting on her struggles, Jeongyeon shared, “It was really hard when my body wasn’t up to it, but the other TWICE members were there for me. They believed in me, stuck by my side, and our bond became even stronger.”

Gong Myung entered the entertainment industry first and made his debut in 2013 with the web drama After School: Lucky or Not. A unique aspect of his career is that he was also part of the actor-singer group “5urprise,” which blended acting and music although it mainly focused on OST activities rather than formal music releases. 5urprise members included fellow actors Seo Kang Joon, Kang Tae Oh and Lee Tae Hwa. Gong Myung became widely known to the public, particularly after starring in the 2019 film Extreme Job, which became the highest-grossing film in South Korea that year.

Meanwhile, his younger brother Doyoung debuted in 2016 as a member of the boy group NCT. NCT is a massive multinational group with 26 members, divided into various units and subgroups. Doyoung is a member of NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT DOJAEJUNG.

Gong Myung and Doyoung appeared together on the MBC reality show The Manager in 2021, where they showcased their real-life brotherly dynamic. Gong Myung admitted, “This feels really awkward,” sharing what it feels like to guest on a variety show with his brother for the first time. When Gong Myung was shown cooking at home in formal slacks, Doyoung playfully remarked, “That’s too staged,” teasing his older brother. Their interactions on the show gave viewers a glimpse into their cute everyday relationship.
