Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon’s ‘Lovely Runner’ to Arrive on Netflix in August

Global OTT giant Netflix has officially announced that it will air the tvN drama Lovely Runner starting August 1st.

On July 15th, the official Netflix K-Content account revealed, “‘Lovely Runner’ is coming to Netflix on August 1st.” They noted that the specific countries for the release may vary. Netflix also began promoting the drama by featuring its logo on the accompanying stills from the series.

The drama fans, who have been eagerly anticipating more content even after its conclusion, are thrilled by the news of its Netflix release.

Fans expressed their excitement with comments like, “Now the world will recognize ‘Lovely Runner,'” “Looking forward to the promotional activities of the actors on Netflix,” and “This could be the next ‘Squid Game’ level hit in K-content.”

Aired from April to May this year, Lovely Runner started with a viewership rating of 3% and barely crossed the 5% mark by its final week. Despite modest ratings, it became one of the most talked-about dramas of the first half of the year, sparking a strong fan following. The drama’s finale saw packed movie theater viewing events and pop-up stores flooded with fans, showcasing its high quality.

Lovely Runner achieved the highest number of paid subscribers among all tvN dramas to date. According to the app analytics platform Mobile Index, the total viewing time on TVING on the day of the finale was 2.5 million hours, surpassing Netflix’s 2.4 million hours. The total accumulated viewing time reached 1.7 billion hours. Additionally, it ranked number one in 130 countries on the global OTT platform Rakuten Viki.
