Lisa‘s fiery solo debut with “ROCKSTAR” has hit a snag. The music video is under fire for allegedly copying scenes from Travis Scott’s “FE!N (Feat. Playboi Carti).”
Gabrielo Moses, the director behind “FE!N,” ignited the controversy by posting a comparison on his Instagram story. The side-by-side shots showed similar scenes from both videos. Moses claimed Lisa’s team even approached his editor to work on “ROCKSTAR” but used “FE!N” as a reference anyway after being rejected. He wrote, “They reached out to my editor to work on this btw & Fein was the reference. He said nah & they did it anyway. Enjoy the rest of your day.”
The director demanded an official explanation from Lisa’s team by the end of the month.
Thai media outlet Khaosod also reported on Lisa’s plagiarism allegations on July 8th. They stated, “Lisa’s ‘ROCKSTAR’ is suspected of copying the music video for Travis Scott’s ‘FE!N’ made by Gabrielo Moses,” and pointed out, “If you compare the music video directed by Gabrielo Moses and ‘ROCKSTAR’, it looks like a replica.”
“ROCKSTAR” is Lisa’s new solo single released on the 28th of last month. Lisa’s agency has yet to release an official statement regarding the plagiarism controversy.
