Netflix is set to launch Can This Love Be Translated? (literal title), a romantic drama starring Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung. Written by the famous Hong Sisters—Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran—known for their hit dramas like The Greatest Love, Hotel Del Luna, and Alchemy of Souls, the series promises to redefine romance for the streaming era.
Can This Love Be Translated? follows an interpreter who interprets different languages and a woman who expresses love in a completely opposite manner, leading to misunderstandings that spark an unusual romance.
Director Yoo Young Eun, known for Bloody Heart, will helm the project, which marks Kim Seon Ho’s return to the romance genre and continues Go Youn Jung’s ascent as one of the hottest new talents. Kim takes on the role of multilingual interpreter Ju Ho Jin, while Go portrays top actress Cha Moo Hee.
The series is part of a busy schedule for both stars. Kim Seon Ho is also gearing up for the release of the Disney Plus series The Tyrant, and has completed filming for Netflix’s When Life Gives You Tangerines and the upcoming series In the Net. He recently showcased his unflagging charm on the variety show Mukbo Brothers Season 2, proving his enduring appeal.
Go Youn Jung continues her streak of successful projects. After gaining widespread recognition for her roles in Disney Plus’s Moving and TVING’s Death’s Game, she’s currently filming Resident Playbook under director Shin Won Ho and has also clinched the lead in the Hong Sisters’ new project following their collaboration in Alchemy of Souls 2.
The pairing of Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung in Can This Love Be Translated? is expected to deliver captivating performances, further fueled by their recent nominations for Best New Actor and Actress at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards in both film and drama categories. The drama is slated to begin shooting in the first half of the year, with high anticipation for its debut on Netflix.
