tvN’s weekend drama Queen of Tears has set a new personal best, clinching the number one spot across all channels, including all terrestrial and cable networks. It achieved the top view ratings for two consecutive days, solidifying its popularity.

According to Nielsen Korea, episode 10 of Queen of Tears, aired on April 7th, recorded an impressive nationwide rating of 19.0%. This marks a significant increase of 3.4% from the previous episode’s rating of 15.6%, making it the highest-rated broadcast across all platforms on that day.

This surge in ratings has propelled Queen of Tears past tvN’s weekend drama historical highs, surpassing Mr. Queen (highest at 17.4%), Crash Course in Romance (highest at 17.0%), and Under the Queen’s Umbrella (highest at 16.9%) in a dramatic leap. Moreover, it has overtaken the previously second-ranked Mr. Sunshine, starring Lee Byung Hun, with its highest rating of 18.1%, placing Queen of Tears at the second spot among tvN’s weekend dramas.

The only remaining challenger is Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin’s Crash Landing on You, which boasts a peak rating of 21.7%. With Queen of Tears only halfway through its run, the possibility of surpassing Crash Landing on You seems within reach.

The emotional romance between the lead characters, played by Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, in episode 10 captured viewers’ hearts, fueling the drama’s unstoppable momentum. As Queen of Tears continues its ascent, the show is on the verge of setting a new benchmark for tvN’s weekend slot.
