JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama The Atypical Family has released a group poster today.
The Atypical Family is a fantasy romance drama about a man with a unique ability who has never been able to save anyone until he finally meets the woman of his destiny.
The drama boasts a powerhouse team with SKY Castle director Jo Hyun Tak at the helm and Marriage, Not Dating writer Ju Hwa Mi penning the script. Additionally, Kang Eun Kyung, the creator behind Dr. Romantic, joins the production.
The unveiled group poster brings together the “superpowered Bok family” and the enigmatic Do Da Hae (played by Chun Woo Hee). Shrouded in shadow behind a curtain, Bok Gwi Ju (played by Jang Ki Yong) sparks questions. Why the depression and the loss of his time-travel ability? The arrival of the suspicious Do Da Hae only adds to the intrigue, as she stands confidently before a seemingly listless Bok Gwi Ju.
The poster also introduces the rest of the Bok family. Bok Man Heum (played by Go Doo Shim), who suffers from insomnia but is gifted with prophetic dreams. Bok Dong Hee (played by Claudia Kim), Bok Gwi Ju’s older sister who struggles with the loss of her once-powerful ability to fly due to her increased weight. Adding to the mystery is Bok Ina (Park So Yi), Bok Gwi Ju’s daughter, whose emotionless expression hides a secret that she’s the only one without a shadow. Rounding out the family is Um Soon Soo (played by Oh Man Seok), a loving father who does not have superpowers but takes care of the superhero family with kind tenderness.
The production team of The Atypical Family shared, “The story of the superhero family who have lost their extraordinary abilities and the mysterious Do Da Hae will create a warm, empathetic tale that will bring you cheerful laughter. Please look forward to the synergy of Jang Ki Yong, Chun Woo Hee, Go Doo Shim, Sooyoung, Park So Yi, and Oh Man Seok, who will maximize the fun and connection you feel for the characters.”
The Atypical Family will premiere on JTBC at 10:30 PM on Saturday, May 4th.
