Film company Zip Cinema has locked in a stellar cast for its next big project, The Black Nuns (literal title).
The Black Nuns is a narrative centered around a group of people determined to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. This sequel to The Priests, which opened a new chapter in Korean occult cinema in 2015, is now heightening anticipation with its casting coup, featuring the likes of Song Hye Kyo, Jeon Yeo Been, Lee Jin Wook, Huh Joon Ho, and Moon Woo Jin.
Song Hye Kyo takes on the role of Sister Yunia, a character armed with a strong will and fearless actions, committed to saving the boy to the very end. The buzz is already hot, and rightfully so, as this marks her return to the big screen after a decade since the 2014 film My Brilliant Life. Jeon Yeo Been steps into the role of Sister Michaela, aiding Sister Yunia. Her pairing with Song Hye Kyo is much anticipated, expected to deliver a mature and nuanced performance.
Lee Jin Wook will portray Father Paolo, a psychiatrist who believes the boy can be treated through medicine. Moon Woo Jin appears as the young boy, Hee Jun, ensnared by the powerful evil spirit, while Huh Joon Ho will bring to life Father Andrea, conducting the ritual to save the boy, infusing the film with a profound sense of gravitas.
Meanwhile, director Kwon Hyuk Jae takes the helm of The Black Nuns, with the cameras set to roll on the 22nd.
