Yeo Jeong Woo (played by Park Hyung Sik) and Nam Ha Neul (Park Shin Hye) bonded over a drink while sharing their struggles in Episode 2 of JTBC’s Doctor Slump.
The latest episode of Doctor Slump drew an average nationwide viewership of 5.1 percent, taking the lead among dramas in the weekend evening time slot across all general South Korean programming channels.
Yeo Jeong Woo moves into Nam Ha Neul’s rooftop room, frustrated by being wrongly accused of medical malpractice. He suspects anesthesiologist Kang Jin Seok (Kim Jae Bum) could be the real culprit as he was the only other person present in the surgery room during the accident.
Meanwhile, Professor Kim’s (Oh Ryoong) relentless workplace harassment pushed Ha Neul to the edge. Deciding she’d had enough, she quits her job, much to her mother’s (Jang Hye Jin) shock and dismay. Feeling hurt by her mother’s response, Ha Neul’s voice trembled as she revealed her hidden battle with depression.
Jeong Woo learns about Ha Neul’s situation and asks her out for a drink. Fueled by liquid courage and shared pain, their tipsy confessions ended in a tearful embrace. As Ha Neul reflects, “The next morning when I sober up, I might blame myself for hugging him today,” Jeong Woo’s voice flows, “She was so warm that day that I forgot all the pain.” Doctor Slump‘s ending struck a chord with many viewers everywhere and received favorable reviews.
