Park Min Young expressed indignation over allegations that she had received living expenses from her former partner, Kang Jong Hyun.
On the 15th, Park Min Young’s agency Hook Entertainment issued a statement clarifying the actress’s position: “In February 2023, Park Min Young participated in an investigation by the prosecution as a reference person concerning Kang Jong Hyun’s use of her bank account under a false name. It was clearly stated that Park Min Young was not involved in any illegal activities nor gained any illegal benefits.”
The agency further addressed the specific sum mentioned in the rumors, stating, “The mentioned 250 million KRW was a result of Kang Jong Hyun using Park Min Young’s account, not for her living expenses. Over the past year, she has been misunderstood due to false information. She accepts the criticism and regrets her actions that were not careful enough. She believes that showing good acting through good works is the only and necessary task of an actress, and thus, she is more devoted to her acting career.”
Concluding the statement, the agency appealed, “We hope there will be no more groundless allegations and defamation tarnishing Park Min Young’s reputation.”
Previously, in September 2022, Park Min Young had confirmed and simultaneously announced her split from Kang Jong Hyun amidst dating rumors. At that time, she denied receiving financial support from her then-partner. However, earlier today, Dispatch reported that Park Min Young had received 250 million KRW in cash that she used as “living expenses” while dating him.
