Han So Hee’s screen debut film is set to be released four years after its completion. The movie Heavy Snow has been selected for the Korean Competition section at the Jeonju International Film Festival.

Director Yoon Su Ik’s queer movie Heavy Snow tells the story of two girls, Su An (Han Hae In) and Seol (Han So Hee), who attend Gangneung Arts High School and struggle with acting and film. The movie depicts the love and wanderings of youth.

Director Yoon Su Ik said, “I lived in Yangyang, Gangwon-do to pen the script,” and added, “I got the inspiration for Heavy Snow while surfing alone in the heavy snow on a winter beach.” He continued, “The film’s background is the rough landscapes of the sea and mountains with heavy snow, and a romance involving the two female characters unfolds within this dreamy and unique atmosphere.”

Heavy Snow is Han So Hee’s screen debut. She filmed it during her second year as a rookie actress. Now, four years later, it will finally be presented to audiences.

Regarding Han So Hee’s casting, Yoon Su Ik said, “I thought she could express the pain and the beauty that the character Seol possesses. She left an impression as a delicate, serious, and courageous actress.” He added, “I wanted to take on this challenge together. I gained great courage from her joining the project.”

The director also highlighted the movie’s visual appeal, saying, “We attempted bold and beautiful visuals by utilizing the ambiguous boundary between fantasy and reality in the story.” However, he assured that the film is not difficult or unrealistic. “We added a simple story and interesting settings so that the audience could empathize,” he said.

Meanwhile, Heavy Snow will premiere on the 29th at 1 PM KST at Megabox Jeonju Gaeoksa. Additional screenings will be held on May 1st at 10 AM and May 5th at 1 PM KST.
