Netflix has released a third poster and the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series, Black Knight.
Set in a future Korean Peninsula where the severe air pollution has made it impossible for people to survive without oxygen, the show follows the story of a legendary courier named 5-8 and a refugee named Sa Wol as they fight against the Chun Myung Group, which dominates the new world. The series stars Kim Woo Bin, Song Seung Heon, Esom, and Kang Yoo Seok.
The new poster shows 5-8 (played by Kim Woo Bin) wearing a mask in a world covered in sand and polluted air.
The trailer begins with 5-8 himself explaining what courier drivers do. He explains how they risk their lives to protect the truck filled with necessities and oxygen from the hunters’ attacks, making them the most needed people in society. The scene then cuts to Seoul, completely covered in sand. In this world, oxygen, which was once equally available to everyone, is now delivered to individuals by scanning a QR code on the back of their hand. While sandstorms rage outside, there are also glimpses of places with cutting-edge facilities, fueling curiosity about the world of courier drivers.
Jo Ui Seok explained why he chose to direct the show, saying, “The setting was very unique. It was fascinating to see courier drivers playing a crucial role in helping people sustain their lives by delivering oxygen and necessities amidst hunter attacks, which is different from the typical image we have of courier drivers.”
Black Knight drops on May 12th.
