The casting news of three productions has been a hot topic in the entertainment industry. Even before the dramas are released, the lineups have left the K-drama fans sitting on the edge of their seats.
Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun have been cast in the tvN drama Queen of Tears, the new project by Crash Landing on You and My Love from the Stars writer Park Ji Eun. The two are set to portray the affluent couple of the Queens Group. Kim Soo Hyun will play the group’s legal director Baek Hyun Woo, while Kim Ji Won takes on the role of Hong Hae In, the queen of Queens Department Store and the third generation heiress of the Queens Group.
IU and Park Bo Gum have been confirmed to co-star in the drama You Have Done Well (literal title). This new drama depicts the adventure of “troublemaker” Ae Soon (IU) and “faithful boy” Gwan Sik (Park Bo Gum), born in the 1950s.
Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won have been named as potential cast members for Polaris (working title), a spy romance drama helmed by Vincenzo director Kim Hee Won and Little Women writer Jung Seo Kyung. Polaris tells the story of the spies in search for their true selves after losing their identities. The recent news of these two actors’ meeting has been heating up the drama industry. Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won, both veteran actors, have never worked together in a project, heightening expectations. Moreover, this marks Kang Dong Won’s first TV series 20 years after Magic.
