Song Hye Kyo revealed that the drama Autumn in My Heart was a turning point in her acting career.

On March 9th, KBS’ Entertainment Company Live broadcasted a segment on the filmography of Song Hye Kyo, who was chosen as one of the “50 celebrities who honored KBS.”

The actress has starred in various successful dramas, such as Autumn in My Heart, Full House and Descendants of the Sun. However, it was Autumn in My Heart, which aired in 2000, that marked a turning point in her career.

During an appearance on Entertainment Weekly in 2007, Song Hye Kyo revealed, “Autumn in My Heart was the turning point in my acting career. At that time, I was uncertain if I could become a professional actress, but thanks to the drama, I was recognized as a person with potential.”

The hit-drama recorded an impressive nationwide average rating of 42.3 percent during its airing, and Song Hye Kyo’s co-stars, Won Bin and Song Seung Heon, also gained significant popularity after the show.

Although two decades have passed since the release of Autumn in My Heart, Song Hye Kyo remains a skilled and successful actress. She recently collaborated once again with screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, whom she first worked with on Descendants of the Sun, for Netflix’s The Glory, which proved to be a major success.
