According to Screen Rant on the 13th, season 2 of Netflix’s Squid Game will have a dark theme with the Front Man (played by Lee Byung Hun) at its centerpiece.
In season 1, it was revealed that the mysterious Front Man turned out to be Hwang In Ho, the ex-cop brother of Hwang Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon). Although In Ho was the final winner for the “Squid Game,” he became the right-man of Oh Il Nam (Oh Young Soo), the creator of the death game.
The upcoming season will have Sung Ki Hoon (Lee Jung Jae) seeking revenge. The previous season ended with a cliffhanger as he chose to take revenge on the game rather than heading to the US. The media outlet forecast that Ki Hoon will be taking part in the game as one of the guards in season 2.
In June of last year, director Hwang Dong Hyuk teased the next season of the show by sharing a post on Netflix’s official Instagram account. He wrote, “A new game will begin. Sung Ki Hoon will be back. Front Man will be back. Season 2 will be coming. The suit man with the ttakji (Gong Yoo) might return. You might be able to meet Young Hee’s boyfriend Chul Soo. Stay tuned for a much more surprising story.”
Meanwhile, it will take more than a year for viewers to watch the new season of the show. Lee Jung Jae is currently filming a new series for Star Wars titled The Acolyte and will be shooting Squid Game season 2 from summer this year.
