It’s been reported that Park Min Young was investigated by the prosecution in connection with her ex-boyfriend Kang Jong Hyun, who’s suspected of being the real owner of Bithumb.
On Tuesday, SBS reported that the actress had been summoned as a witness by prosecutors in a case involving Kang Jong Hyun, her ex-boyfriend and the man rumored to be the actual owner of the nation’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Bithumb.
According to the report, the investigation is about Park Min Young’s involvement in the process of Kang Jong Hyun manipulating the stock prices and embezzlement from the company. The prosecution is looking into the fact that thousands of dollars worth of profit was made in borrowed-name convertible bonds issued by Bithumb affiliates under Park Min Young’s name. Currently, she’s been banned from leaving the country.
Last year, it was revealed that the actress’s older sister served as an outside director at a Bithumb affiliate that Kang Jong Hyun’s younger sister was the CEO of.
Park Min Young’s agency Hook Entertainment responded, “It’s difficult to give any answers now.”
Meanwhile, Park Min Young was recently offered the lead role of the new drama Marry My Husband.
