Park Ji Hoon was reportedly cast in the new webtoon-based thriller series.

On the 16th, Sports World reported, “Park Ji Hoon was cast as the male lead of the new TV series Bastard (literal title). The female lead will be portrayed by Roh Yoon Seo.”

Bastard is based on the popular NAVER webtoon of the same. It’s a new thriller series that centers around Seon Woo Jin, a high school boy who lives alone with his psychopath father, who’s murdered people all his life. It follows the boy’s struggle to protect Yoon Kyun, his father’s next target.

Recently, Park Ji Hoon became one of the highly-sought out actors when his Wavve series Weak Hero Class 1 became a major hit. In Bastard, he’ll be stepping into the role of Seon Woo Jin, a boy who spends an unfortunate childhood under his psychopathic killer father who gaslights, abuses, and threatens him to commit crimes. But he’ll be showing the growth of a pained boy.

Starring opposite Park Ji Hoon is Roh Yoon Seo, who made her grand debut in Our Blues and became a rising star through Netflix’s 20th Century Girl. She’ll take on the role of Yoon Kyun, a girl who leads Seon Woo Jin out of the dark into the light.

Meanwhile, the webtoon version of Bastard was created by the webtoon “Sweet Home” team, storymaker Carnby and webtoonist Hwang Young Chan.
