‘Pachinko’ Wins Best Foreign Language Series at Critics Choice Awards 2023

Apple TV+ original series Pachinko won Best Foreign Language Series at the 28th Critics Choice Awards.

Other nominees for the award include Extraordinary Attorney Woo, 1899, Borgen, Garcia!, The Kingdom Exodus, Kleo, My Brilliant Friend and Tehran. 

Pachinko is a multi-generational chronicle about Korean immigrants who leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive in Japan and the United States. Based on the novel of the same name by Korean-American writer Lee Min Jin, the series stars Kim Min Ha, Youn Yuh Jung and Lee Min Ho. 

Park Chan Wook’s Decision to Leave was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, but the award went to the Indian smash RRR. The nominees for the award were: All Quiet on the Western Front; Argentina, 1985; Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths; Close; and RRR.

Decision to Leave has been shortlisted for International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards, and the final list of nominees will be announced on January 24th.
