Is BLACKPINK also changing its managing label to The Black Label, a subsidiary of YG?

Rumors have surfaced that BLACKPINK will be heading to The Black Label, founded in 2015 by YG producer Teddy and Kush. Earlier this week, Big Bang’s Taeyang announced his decision to move to The Black Label, which currently manages artists like Jeon Somi, Zion. T and more.

It’s believed that the rumors are based on various news surrounding YG’s recent plan to “restructure” the agency, putting many labels under a single, larger parent branch as opposed to having diverse operations all overseen by one or two labels.

As if to strengthen the rumors, actor Kang Dong Won and boy band iKON announced their departure from the agency without renewing their contracts.

Allkpop cited an official from YG, “There’s nothing I can confirm regarding the news. I only can say that our contracts with the members have not ended yet. It’s hard to confirm whether they will sign with The Black Label after the end of their contract.”
