Cha Eun Woo is taking on a new character he’s never shown before.

In upcoming TVING series Island, Cha Eun Woo plays John, the youngest exorcist there is. This new fantasy action series follows the journey of characters who have the destiny to fight against the evil that is trying to destroy the world.

For the first time in his acting career, Cha Eun Woo stars in an action series. To perfect his performance, he went to action training school and constantly exchanged ideas with the actors and the director on the set.

Since Cha Eun Woo’s character poster and still photos were unveiled, attention was focused on his “perfect” cartoon-like appearance. At the press conference, the actor shared, “I learned a lot from Kim Nam Gil (playing Ban) about how to look right when I greet in the cloth and belt priests wear.”

Cha Eun Woo studied hard for his character. He prepared for it, personally visiting cathedrals and meeting priests to ask questions. He also learned Italian and Latin. An official shared, “Cha Eun Woo spared no effort to show a new face he’s never shown before. Please look forward to his transformation.”

Meanwhile, Island will be released on the 30th at noon on TVING.
