A remark that Lee Seung Gi had made on a variety show in the past has resurfaced online amid allegations that he has not yet received any of his music-related profits for about 18 years.
The singer guest appeared on Knowing Bros in December of last year and briefly talked about his earnings from Sing Again.
Mentioning that he had emceed the show’s first season, he remarked that he would be emceeing Sing Again season 2 as well. Min Kyung Hoon asked, “The first season was a huge success. Do you get a raise for the second season?”
Lee Seung Gi was a little flustered hear Min, as he answered, “I don’t know how much I get for appearing on that show.”
Hearing what the singer said, Lee Sang Min exclaimed, “He doesn’t even know how much he gets paid!” Kai also shouted out in surprise, “Do you get a running guarantee?” A ‘running guarantee’ refers to an incentive payment that top stars receive when a project breaks even in earnings.
Kang Ho Dong also jokingly said, “He doesn’t get a raise. He gets shares from JTBC.”
