Yoon Hong Bin Says the Itaewon Tragedy Could Have Been Prevented

Yoon Hong Bin gave his firsthand account of the Itaewon crowd crush.

The actor shared his experience at the tragic scene on On October 30th. He wrote, “Some people shouted not to push while the others shouted to push. The police were soley placed on the main street and people were crammed in the back on the international food street without any order.”

“When I stepped outside to smoke, I noticed people being transported to an ambulance. Many more were being carried, and officers were performing CPR on the street because ambulances couldn’t take everyone on ambulances,” he continued.

He went on, “There were so many people that they needed normal people to do CPR. So I jumped in to help. I performed CPR for more than 20 minutes, and while giving CPR, I could hear people pleading with their loved ones to open their eyes. I couldn’t save the one I was helping.”

“I hope everyone can work together to make sure this does not happen again, knowing how this happened,” he said.
