Alchemy of Souls took third place in Netflix’s global Top 10 TV non-English category.
Studio Dragon announced, “Alchemy of Souls finished its first part consisting of 20 episodes. The second part, which the viewers around the world are waiting for, will have 10 episodes. It’ll air in December.”
Alchemy of Souls is a fantasy romance drama set in a country that doesn’t exist in history or on maps. It follows the protagonists whose fate has been twisted due to the soul-shifting magic. With a new worldview, attractive characters, and unpredictable development, the series became a hot topic. The viewer ratings, which started at around 6%, rose to 10.8% – the show’s all-time record – in the final episode.
The show, also released on Netflix, saw solid popularity, constantly ranking in the Top 10 Netflix ranking. It spent July in 5th place and August in 4th, 5th, and 3rd place. In August alone, viewers around the world spent about 84 million hours watching Alchemy of Souls.
Some of the comments on IMDb read, “I’m sure I’m missing some relevant cultural context, but I find this series, through the first eight available episodes, thoroughly enjoyable, a needed escape” and “A magnificent fusion of adventure, fantasy, comedy and romance.”
