ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo is in discussion to star in a new Hollywood film, K-Pop: Lost in America.

On July 2nd, an industry insider revealed that the idol is currently reviewing the offer to star in the new film. Reports say that he has already rearranged his schedule to hop on the project in the second half of this year.

K-Pop: Lost in America follows a K-pop boy band that mistakenly lands in Texas with only two days left before making their global debut in New York. With no money and little time left, they must make their way back to New York to perform on their dream stage at Madison Square Garden.

Co-produced by Lynda Obst and CJ Entertainment’s Miky Lee, the upcoming flick will be helmed by director JK Youn of Tidal Wave and Ode to My Father.

After many auditions and casting meetings, K-Pop: Lost in America has reportedly decided to tap the actor to play the K-pop idol as he has been both active in the field of K-Pop and the acting industry. The film will begin its regular shooting most likely this fall, but there may be changes as the singer is currently on a tight schedule.

Meanwhile, DEADLINE stated that Rebel Wilson and Charles Melton have been confirmed to star in the upcoming show.
