On the 26th, Sports Chosun reported that Seol In Ah was cast to lead the new KBS drama Oasis. Oasis is a drama set in turbulent Korea from the 1980s to the 1990s. It illustrates the fierce life, revenge, and conflict of young people who had to live only in pursuit of power and wealth surrounded by erroneous social values.
According to the report, Seol In Ah plays Oh Jung Shin, aka Sophia. Born in 1961 as the daughter of Namhae Theater owner, she grew up with Doo Hak and Chul Woong. She left Seoul for Yeosu to attend middle school and high school, and that’s where she met Doo Hak and Chul Woong. After her tearful breakup with Doo Hak, a poor but honest and wise man, she jumps into film distribution and production to save the theater. She becomes a powerful female cultural figure with tenacity toward career and revenge.
Jang Dong Yoon is in talks to become Seol In Ah’s partner in the drama. The actor has been mulling over the role of Lee Doo Ha for some time now. It is said that he’s positively considering his appearance.
Meanwhile, Oasis comes from Damo and Jumong writer Jung Hyung Soo.
