In an interview followed by the photoshoot, the actor said, “The original webtoon is a well-known masterpiece. The work conveys an eye-opening message and I frankly felt pressured to play the role as the original work received so much love from many fans.” He said, “However, I decided to hop on this project as I was able to personally relate to the story that deals with issues like poverty, grades, and lost dreams.”

He continued, “The way the original webtoon was portrayed is incredible. The combination of live-action and 3D animation brought such magical scenes to life in the series adaptation.”

As The Sound of Magic includes many green screenshots, the star had to film in front of one for a long time. He candidly talked about what it was like filming in front of the screen by saying, “I thought it would not be that difficult to act in front of a green screen. But I was completely wrong as I had to maintain focus while acting in front of it three to four hours a day.”
