The webtoon Love Alarm will be reborn as a reality dating show.

On Friday, Kakao Entertainment announced that they’re recruiting a cast for its new love psychology survival show Love Alarm.

Love Alarm uses the app “love alarm” that automatically rings an alarm when someone that likes you enters within a 10-meter radius. The show was planned with the motif of the “love alarm” app and the reality dating show Clap! Clap! Clap!

Love Alarm, which was produced as a Netflix series and gained global popularity, will captivate the viewers as a variety show this time. The reality show version comes from Real Men and Wannabe Ryan producer Kim Min Jong.

Kakao TV original show Love Alarm centers around the “love alarm” app, the show’s main theme. As soon as the platform announced the recruitment of the cast, the expectations of the fans of the original webtoon rose rapidly. As it says in the recruitment notice, “anyone who seeks love, regardless of age, occupation, and sexual orientation” can apply. The filming will begin in mid-June, and the show will premiere later this year.

Producer Kim Min Jong shared, “In addition to the actual implementation of the ‘love alarm’ app in the webtoon, we’ll deliver a different kind of fun with a composition that allows viewers’ participation and unusual roles.”
