The rumors regarding Kim Tae Ri‘s designer clothes she wore at this year’s Baeksang Arts Awards were found to be completely untrue. The chief design editor who distributed the gown quickly responded to the rumors.

Recently, Kim Tae Ri made headlines after being accused of wearing a fake designer dress at the awards ceremony. According to Taiwan’s ET Today, some Chinese internet users suspected the actress of wearing a knock-off gown, claiming that the details were by far different from the designer’s creation, which Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson wore at the 2019 event. They added that it’s impossible to alter details if she got sponsored clothes from the designer’s brand.

However, these speculations were shot down as soon as the chief design editor spoke up. She said, “The female star’s gown is an original Brandon Maxwell. It was modified to fit the actress’s body, as everyone has different body frames. We wouldn’t even call that an alteration as we tailored the dress only to make it smaller.” She further explained, “We tailor clothes according to our client’s body measurements. It sometimes causes minor alterations as we cannot create the dress from the beginning to the end. For example, we alter the sleeves of Chanel jackets according to models.”
