Netflix will unveil Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area – the Korean remake of the hit Spanish series Money Heist – in June.
Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area depicts a hostage crisis in Korea, involving a genius strategist and people with different personalities and abilities. It’s staged against the backdrop of the Korean peninsula.
On the 29th, Netflix announced the release of parts 1 and 2 of the show, with Part 1 getting released on June 24th. Along with the news, the platform revealed a teaser poster and date announcement video.
The poster shows a Hahoetal mask, the traditional Korean mask, which will be replacing the Dali mask, the signature look of the robbers in the original series. The blood spattered on the side of this white mask suggests the bold, ultimate heist of the robbers.
The released video heralds the splendid debut of the robbers aiming for “the biggest money heist of all time.” The Professor (Yoo Ji Tae) narrates, “A robber who steals petty cash either gets killed after being chased or ends up in jail. But a robber who steals at a massive scale can change the world and even become a hero.”
He then introduces his grand and bold plan to involve an entire country in his heist. “The public will watch this greatest show on earth live. And they will root for us. ”
Meanwhile, the cast of Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area includes Yoo Ji Tae, Kim Yun Jin, Park Hae Soo, Jeon Jong Seo, Lee Won Jong, Park Myung Hoon, Kim Sung Oh, Kim Ji Hoon, Jang Yoon Ju, Lee Joo Bin, Park Jung Woo, and Lee Kyu Ho.
