Just before the turn of the new month, men’s lifestyle magazine Esquire released a set of breathtaking pictorials featuring Lee Jun Young.
When the interviewer asked him about what it’s like to be called an ‘idol-turned actor,’ the actor replied, “To be honest, I work harder not because I don’t want to be called by that title, but because I want to be called by that name.” He added, “I have seen many idol-turned actors, and I share thanks to them for paving the way for people like me. Though it may be too much to say that I’m willing to carry on their will, such motivation led me to work harder with great passion.”
To the question about what makes him feel a sense of joy as an actor, he replied, “When I hear people saying, ‘Is he Lee Jun Young? No way,’ it makes me feel thrilled because it means that they appreciate my acting. I was so grateful for all the good reviews they left on D.P. when it was first released.”
The star also shared an intriguing story behind Love and Leashes, in which he and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun co-starred: “Although we had very little knowledge of the terms and concepts in the script, the production team helped us by explaining them very thoroughly before the production actually took place. So based on that, she and I had lots of conversations on how we should play the characters. I met up with her up to four times a week for better chemistry,” he shared.
Lee Jun Young is currently filming Brave Citizen and Wilderness (literal titles).
