Big Hit Music has officially responded to reports regarding BTS Jimin‘s unpaid health insurance premiums.

In an official statement, the label wrote, “The company is the first to receive all mail that arrives at the artists’ dorms. However, a portion of the mail was omitted by mistake while relaying it to the artist.”

The agency added, “Jimin was unaware of matters such as his premiums being overdue because of his activities abroad that began at the end of last year, his extended period of rest, and his scheduled activities abroad after that. He paid the arrears as soon as he learned about them, and the situation is now resolved. We apologize for causing the artist and fans concern as a result of our company’s negligence.”

On January 25th, a South Korean news outlet reported that the National Health Insurance Service almost seized the artist’s apartment in Seoul because of his unpaid health insurance premiums. It also indicated that he paid the overdue premiums after receiving four separate notices about the confiscation via registered mail.
