Lee Joon and Kang Hanna will unfold a heartbreaking love story in the upcoming series Bloody Heart.
KBS’s Bloody Heart tells the story of King Lee Tae, who has to abandon the woman he loves to survive, and Yoo Jung, who has to become the queen in order to survive. This bloody royal romance series begins as these two lovers aim their swords at each other’s throats.
Lee Joon plays King Lee Tae, who dreams of ruling as an absolute monarch. His co-star Kang Hanna plays Yoo Jung, who is too free-spirited to be bound by strict Confucian doctrines. Lee Tae and Yoo Jung met in their purest days and still are head over heels for one another. But when they reunite inside the palace, they must face their tragic fate.
The released still photos capture both the affectionate vibe and the darkness that fell on the two of them. In particular, Lee Joon’s two contradicting expressions catch the eye.
The production team shared, “Please look forward to the heartbreaking romance between Lee Joon and Kang Hanna, who will portray the Joseon version of Romeo and Juliet. In particular, please check the story of how these lovers ended up in the center of political confrontation.”
Meanwhile, KBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Bloody Heart will premiere on May 2nd at 9:30 PM KST.
