Joo Won is in talks to lead the new drama Bootleg (working title).

According to OSEN, Joo Won was recently cast in Kwak Jung Hwan’s new drama bootleg. To which Studio Santa Claus Entertainment responded, “Joo Won did get an offer to star in Bootleg. It’s one of the many projects he got an offer from.”

Set in Joseon Dynasty, Bootleg is an action drama depicting a competition between cruel and troublesome organizations over alcohol. If Joo Won officially joined the show, it’ll be his comeback to the small screen two years after Alice.

Director Kwak Jung Hwan is best known for The Slave Hunters, The K2, Miss Hammurabi, and the Chief of Staff series. His most recent credit was Delayed Justice.

Meanwhile, Bootleg is produced by the drama division of Lotte Entertainment. The filming will begin in the second half of this year. It’s most likely to air as the new tvN series, though the premiere date is still under discussion.
