The One and Only will be allowing a time for viewers to feel true happiness.
JTBC’s new Monday-Tuesday series The One and Only held its online press conference on the 20th. Director Oh Hyun Jong, Ahn Eun Jin, Kim Kyung Nam, Kang Ye Won, and Joy attended the event.
The One and Only is an emotional drama about three terminally ill women who meet at a hospice. They agree that they want to take down one bad guy before they die. Yet, in their attempt to take him down, they wind up meeting the most valuable person of their lives.
Director Oh Hyun Jung explained that the drama “tells the story of characters who grow up before their deaths.” “It’s a work with the message that you only need one person to heal death and overcome pain,” he added.
Ahn Eun Jin said, “I had so much fun reading the scripts. I wondered if I could pull off a role who’s diagnosed terminally ill in episode one, but the answer was in the filming site. Also, the story was so warm that I had no choice but to join the show.”
Joy shared, “It’s my comeback to TV after three years, so I was scared. But after meeting the director, I felt confident. The story was so warm that I felt like I was being healed.”
Meanwhile, The One and Only brings the character together with a murder case. “The murder case is only used as a dramatic device. Our drama is not of the thriller genre,” he explained. “The characters form relationships through the murder case.”
Meanwhile, The One and Only will premiere today at 11 PM KST.
