Coupang Play’s first original series, One Ordinary Day, starring Kim Soo Hyun premiered on November 27th.

One Ordinary Day is a Korean remake of the British BBC drama, Criminal Justice.

In episodes one and two, Kim Hyun Soo is framed as a murder suspect.

At the press conference for the premiere of One Ordinary Day, Kim Soo Hyun said, “As Hyun Soo, I did my best to be the innocent person who is frustrated, sad, and hurt.” Just like what he has said, he showed a desperate man in frustration in the first episode as Hyun Soo was falsely charged as a murder suspect.

Pity for Kim Hyun Soo grows as his circumstances go downhill. Lawyer Shin Joong Han (Cha Seung Won) doesn’t care about the truth and repeatedly advises him to remain silent in order to win the trial.

Veteran detective Park Sang Beom (Kim Hong Pa) works behind the scenes to frame Kim Hyun Soo as the murderer. The same goes for prosecutor Ahn Tae Hee (Kim Shin Rok).

The appearance of judicial representatives who don’t care about the actual truth but act on their own definition of justice stirred mixed reactions from viewers.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun is receiving positive feedback for portraying Kim Hyun Soo’s frustration with such genuine acting. Viewers have praised his acting with comments like “I knew he was good at acting, but he’s really good,” “His immersion in the character is insane,” and “He’s the best at crying.”
