[Weekly TV Top 10] Romance Historical Dramas Take Over the Small Screen: ‘The Red Sleeve’ & ‘The King’s Affection’ Rank at Top 2

The Red Sleeve

Drama Ranking for the 3rd Week of November

MBC’s The Red Sleeve took the top spot for two consecutive weeks. The directing and overall plot are consistently well-received, and praises followed the series’s thorough research into the historical facts. KBS’s The King’s Affection rose up a notch and came in second. Along with praises for Park Eun Bin’s acting, her and Rowoon’s chemistry received favorable response. SBS’s Now, We Are Breaking Up landed at No. 3 with a slight dip in popularity. Though many showed satisfaction over the plot, there’s a constant criticism that it’s archaic. KBS’s Young Lady and Gentleman ranked fourth for the second week. Satisfaction over the speedy storytelling poured out. tvN’s Happiness kept its fifth place, achieving all-time high popularity. The realistic portrayal of the mad person disease and the background music that enhances the immersion level gained good reviews. tvN’s Jirisan, which has been steadily declining since its first broadcast, ranked sixth for two weeks in a row. Many showed disappointment over Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon’s character settings that failed to meet the expectations. The excessive product placement only added to the disappointment.
