KBS’ The King’s Affection has a hit new personal best viewership rating on its last episode.
According to Nielsen Korea, The King’s Affection has recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 8.8 percent.
In the twelfth episode, the storyline takes a new turn when Lee Hwi’s (Park Eun Bin) secret found its way out. Now, the people around her are about to discover that Hwi is, in fact, the twin sister of the crown prince who died years ago. Upon learning the truth, her father, King Hyejong, took away her throne and exiled her from the palace for Changun’s death.
However, perhaps because she now has no more secret for the king or Lee Hyun (Nam Yoon Su), she left the palace lightheartedly without any grudge or unfinished business. Plus, it was revealed that her departure was actually her father’s plan to allow her to live her own life as a woman.
Given this chance, Hwi and Jung Ji Woon (Rowoon) confirm their feelings for each other and set out on a run while avoiding government soldiers.
When they went deep into the forest, Hwi removes her clothes for Ji Woon to treat her wounds. “I said I had a confession to make. Are you not curious to find out what it is? This is my secret,” she says as she shows him her wrapped-up chest.
The two exchange puzzled glances, hinting at the upcoming romance in the next episode
