Squid Game has knocked Bridgerton off Netflix’s top spot, pulling in two times what Shonda Rhimes’s show generated over its first 28 days of release.
According to Netflix, Squid Game has pulled in a whopping 1.65 billion hours of viewing in 28 days following its September 17th premiere. That number of viewing hours is equal to 182,000 years in total.
The entire viewership of the smash-hit Korean drama in the first month is 2.6 times that of Netflix’s next most popular show, Bridgerton, which produced 625 million hours in its first 28 days of release.
Squid Game quickly lapped the competition in both the non-English-language categories as well. Money Heist: Part 4 turned out to be the next most-watched non-English TV series, with 619 million hours streamed.
