In the ninth episode of KBS’ The King’s Affection, Jung Ji Woon (Rowoon) confessed his feelings toward Lee Hwi (Park Eun Bin).
Ji Woon thought of the moment he spent with Lee Hwi the other night at the abandoned palace. At the same time, Lee Hwi was also seen blushing, thinking about his kiss on her cheek the night before.
In the meantime, the king’s mother brought up the idea of Lee Hwi’s national marriage during their meeting. Hwi was seen with mixed feelings even though she knew that it would happen someday.
That afternoon, Ji Woon couldn’t find the dice he used to rattle in his hands whenever he was lost in thoughts. Soon, he finds himself at the abandoned palace and remembers that Hwi had kissed him while he was drunk and asleep the other night.
The royal tutor then realized that it wasn’t a dream and ran straight to the crown prince. When he finally met the prince, he said, “I will believe you if you say the feelings were momentary. But it wasn’t for me. It wasn’t admiration from a subject. I thought it was my loyalty to you. But it was affection. I have a deep affection for you, Your Royal Highness. Although you’re a man, and the Crown Prince of this nation, I love you.” It was the ending where the feelings of the two, which could no longer be hidden, reached their peak.
According to Nielson Korea, The King’s Affection recorded an average nationwide rating of 7.8 percent and proved its unchanging popularity.
