Park Eun Bin and Rowoon’s new historical romance drama, The King’s Affection, is off to a promising start with the two’s fateful encounter.

The King’s Affection is a romance drama that revolves around a pair of royal twins, a male and a female. Although the sister is initially abandoned for being a girl, she later disguises herself as her twin brother and joins the fight for the throne as the crown prince when her brother dies.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of The King’s Affection recorded average nationwide viewership ratings of 6.2 percent.

In the first episode, the abandoned female twin named Dami enters the palace as a maid and runs into her twin brother Lee Hwi who has become a prince. One day, he summons Dami to his quarters and asks her to swap roles with him. However, this decision only results in his death. On top of that, the fluttering romance between Jung Ji Woon and Dami is headed on a downward spiral very quickly when Ji Woon’s father turned out to be Jung Seok Jo, the one who tried to kill Dami.

Since the second episode is expected to star Park Eun Bin and Rowoon as grown-up Dami and Ji Woon, all eyes are on the coming episode and how the story will unfold in the future.

The Kings Affection will be released worldwide on Netflix.

Meanwhile, Lovers Of The Red Sky earned average nationwide viewership ratings of 8.8 percent, defending its position as the most-watched drama on Monday and Tuesday.
