Choi Jin Hyuk was booked by the police for violating COVID-19 social distancing regulations. Because of it, the actor will halt his activities until further notice.

According to media outlets, Choi was booked by the police on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act. He was caught at an entertainment bar in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu in Seoul, at around 8:20 PM KST.

The bar that Choi visited is an entertainment facility that is subject to restrictions of group meetings in accordance with the level-4 social distancing applied to the Seoul area. A total of 51 individuals present at the place, including the owner, staff, and customers, were booked during the crackdown.

“Because of the COVID-19 situation, he (Choi Jin Hyuk) was cautious about being seen drinking outside, even during times earlier than 10 PM. So, while looking for a place where he could quietly have conversations, he went to a location recommended by an acquaintance,” explained his agency G-Tree Creative.

“Choi Jin Hyuk’s acquaintance took him to a bar that he said could stay open until 10 PM. He had no idea that the bar was open illegally,” the company continued. “We are aware there is no excuse for the ignorance and misbehavior shown. Therefore, he will halt all his activities and reflect on his actions.”

As a part of this decision, the actor will exit from SBS’s hit show My Little Old Boy. As for the already-recorded episodes, the show will cut him out as much as possible.
