The King’s Affection is Rowoon‘s first historical drama. He revealed, “I thought it would be a good opportunity to be in many different stories,” explaining why he chose to star in this specific period series.

Rowoon will be playing Jung Ji Woon, the royal tutor of crown prince Lee Hwi. Through he is feisty and cheerful, he secretly cherishes the memory of his first love.

According to Rowoon, his character is “a man like a feather cloud.” He elaborated on his expression, saying, “It looks fluffy on the outside, but it’s filled with rain on the inside.” He continued, “He is a free-spirited man who refuses to follow the rules of society. However, in the process, he experiences frustrations and collapses in his belief. He’s definitely off to a bumpy ride.”

In addition, Rowoon picked Lee Hwi and Jung Ji Woon’s chemistry as what to look for in the series. He explained, “Hwi has a huge secret, so she keeps five steps away from everyone around her to protect herself. That’s how she survives. On the contrary, Ji Woon has wounds, but he has great people around him. It would be interesting to see the two opposite people slowly opening their hearts to each other.”

The Kings Affection will premiere on Netflix on October 11th.
