The new Friday-Saturday dramas One the Woman and The Veil, starring Lee Hanee and Namgoong Min respectively, started the ratings battle.

Both SBS’s One the Woman and MBC’s The Veil premiered on the 17th. On that day, One the Woman took the lead, garnering 8.2% ratings nationwide, while The Veil recorded only 7.2%.

However, the tables were turned the very next day. The ratings for The Veil rose to 8.0%, while One the Woman saw a slight drop to 7.2%.

The two dramas show entirely different textures, allowing the viewers a “fun to choose.” One the Woman focuses on comedy and fun with Lee Hanee in the center. Moreover, her The Fiery Priest castmate Kim Nam Gil and Jin Seok Kyu made cameo appearances, doubling the fun.

On the other hand, The Veil illustrates a heavy and suspenseful narrative. Han Ji Hyuk, the top NIS agent, returned after a year with his memory gone. But soon after, he realized that there’s a traitor inside the NIS through the videos he left for himself, starting a war against his enemy.

An industry insider commented, “The two dramas have completely different personalities, materials, and methods of telling the story. This allows the viewer a wider range of choice.”

Meanwhile, tvN’s Yumi’s Cells, starring Kim Go Eun, premiered with 2.4% ratings.
