Netflix’s upcoming military series D.P. held an online press conference today, on August 25. Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun, Son Seok Gu, and director Han Jun Hee participated in the event. The press conference took place on a set that resembled the squad room in D.P.
Jung Hae In commented, “I’ve got goosebumps because this set looks so realistic that it is just like the squad room in the army.” Then, he added, “I feel like back in the days when I first enlisted in the army. It reminds me of the day that I walked into the squad room with my first military uniform on. It chills me to the bone.”
Then he explained how many actors shouted out their real names in the scenes where they had to identify themselves with their names and ranks. Director Han explained, “It wasn’t just one person. Many actors shouted out their real names on the set when they were asked to identify themselves in front of the camera. It was just like a reflex.” Jung Hae In quickly stated with a shy smile on his face, “That was me. I was so nervous. So, I shouted out ‘Private Jung Hae In!’ by mistake and made a blooper.”
D.P. is a special unit in the military that chases down those who have deserted the army. The drama tells the story of Jun Ho (Jung Hae In) and Ho Yul (Koo Kyo Hwan), who go after deserters and slowly get to face a reality they were unaware of.
