On the 9th, tvN dropped the main poster of Yumi’s Cells that shows the two main characters Yumi (Kim Go Eun) and Ku Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun). Even in just one glance, the colorful poster gives off a heart-fluttering vibe.

Sitting side by side on a couch, Yumi smiles with a cup in her hands while Ku Woong watches her from the corner of his eyes. Their carefully placed feet tickle your hearts. Above all else, Yumi’s cells, from “emotional cells” to “nervous cells,” catch the eye. Especially, the “flirting cell” encourages the two people’s romance with a “sensuous” pose.

They are not the only cells that are at work. As if to prove Yumi and Ku Woong’s romance, two cells are kissing, making the “romance cell” blush. And despite the romance in the air, “hungry cells” are just happy to eat.

Yumi’s Cells is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. Like the webtoon, the drama will revolve around an ordinary office worker named Yumi. But the story will unfold from her brain cells’ point of view. One thing to note is that the drama will be produced in a new format that combines live-action and 3D animation.

Kim Go Eun plays Yumi, who wants a spoon of romance in her boring life. When her heart starts to beat for a man, the village of cells in her body is turned upside down. “Yumi is an ordinary girl, but she is lucky because there’s someone who’s always on her side,” said Kim. “Watching Yumi’s cells working together to make Yumi happy will give you hopeful thoughts.”

Ahn Bo Hyun turns into Ku Woong, who answers everything with either yes or no. He is an engineer to the bone and boasts simple and clean-cut charms. “Every part of Ku Woong’s cells is unique. I can’t wait to see how they are shown in the drama and what kind of synergy they will show with Ku Woong,” shared Ahn.

Shopping King Louie and Familiar Wife director Lee Sang Yeop helms the production and Memories of the Alhambra and W writer Song Jae Jung takes the creator credit. For the script, Find Me in Your Memory writer Kim Yoon Joo and rookie writer Kim Kyung Ran joined hands.

Meanwhile, Yumi’s Cells will be produced as a seasonal series. The drama will premiere simultaneously on TVING and tvN on September 17th at 10:50 PM KST.
