What goes on in Kim Go Eun’s head in Yumi’s Cells?
Today, Yumi’s Cells unveiled a teaser poster that heralds a whole new level of fun. Produced as a franchise series, Yumi’s Cells tells the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi and her brain cells.
Shopping King Louie and Familiar Wife director Lee Sang Yeop helms the production and Memories of the Alhambra and W writer Song Jae Jung takes the creator credit. For the script, Find Me in Your Memory writer Kim Yoon Joo and rookie writer Kim Kyung Ran joined hands.
The teaser poster captures the unique chemistry of Kim Go Eun, playing Yumi, and her cells. Kim Go Eun stands in the center of the poster with her bright smile and her cells are peeking over the bulletin board. The phrases written on the board read – “What’s love?” and “Don’t forget. You are the hero of this story.”
Kim Go Eun picked “ordinary story” as the charm of Yumi’s Cells. “It deals with small things that happen to everyone rather than dramatic events. So I think many people will recall their good memories and sympathize with our story,” she said. “Since the production combines real-life people and animations, I’m acting with a thought in mind that everything has to blend well so that one part doesn’t oddly stand out.”
Yumi’s Cells will be produced in a new format that combines live-action and 3D animation.
