Red Velvet’s Yeri and Pentagon’s Hongseok Shares What to Look for in Their Upcoming Drama ‘Blue Birthday’

‘Blue Birthday’ will be released on Naver TV today at 7 PM KST.

Playlist’s new Friday-Saturday series Blue Birthday is a new fantasy romance thriller. Ten years ago, the main character’s boyfriend chose to take his own life on the day of her birthday. And with the mysterious photos that he left, the main character revisits the past. Red Velvet’s Yeri and Pentagon’s Hongseok will play the lead roles.

Yeri has always been a fan of time-travel theories. She shared, “Since it involves time traveling, it would be difficult to keep track of the series if you miss one episode. I hope you will enjoy watching what happens in each episode.” She added, “I remember the scene where 28-year-old Ha Rin cries alone in the room looking at pictures of Seo Joon. I hope the scene would be able to resonate with the viewers.”

Hongseok chose the meticulous settings of Blue Birthday as one of the key points to watch out for in the drama. He shared, “Many details are hidden within the multiple time travels.” Also, he added, “If you miss it, you’ll regret it,” saying, “I hope that our work will be a fun project for all of you.”

Lastly, director Park Dan Hee said, “Ha Rin and Seo Joon’s narrative is the most crucial part of the drama, so we often sat down with the two actors and went through the scenes.” He continued, “Despite their busy schedule, they worked on the reading until late in the day. The two of them grew so much during the project and showed great performance and chemistry.”

Meanwhile, Blue Birthday will be unveiled on Naver TV on July 23rd at 7 PM KST. Soon, the episodes will also be released on YouTube on August 6th.
